Level 2 · Steady Time
2-1 - Two minutes, zero drift
Endurance + metronome lock on quarter-note bass.
How to practice it
Quarter-note bass tones with the metronome for a full two minutes without stopping. The goal is boring perfection: every hit exactly with the click, same volume, same tone, start to finish.
Suggested take: ~120s · start 70 BPM → pass around 85 BPM

Tips
- • When you and the click are perfectly together, the click seems to disappear - chase that.
- • Check in with your shoulders every 20 seconds: still relaxed?
- • Breathe. Seriously - people hold their breath and speed up.
Watch out for
- • Speeding up when confident, slowing when tired (classic drift)
- • Volume fading in the second minute
- • Gripping tension building without noticing
